A glance at our process in Final Cut archiving Brune's footage.
On Monday, we started going through all of the footage from our classroom and building a digital library.
The past two days, we've completed archiving all footage from March 3rd through March 16th. We are creating a database of objective information for each clip.
- Clip #
- Rehearsal #
- All characters
- Principal characters
- Class structure (Music lesson, Movement lesson, Snack, etc.)
- Specific activity
- Musical piece performed/practiced/in the background (if any)
- Whether translation is necessary (in Farsi, Arabic, Russian, or Kurdish)
Alongside this objective database, we are each taking personal notes. These personal notes are equally important and will be used for reference later on for our creative collaborations to come.
It's been wonderful to revisit two great guest workshops. First, Giovanni Firpo's miming workshop on March 4th was an important day for learning to focus and build a lingua franca as a group.
Secondly, the week that singers from Columbia University's Notes & Keys a cappella group visited our classroom resonates strongly on camera. There are many themes that emerge, but objectively what we see most strongly is the process of building an ensemble.
